Valentina has been making my mermaid hair dreams come true for almost three years now and I’ll continue to come back for as long as she’ll have me! In my experience, barbershops don’t typically have stylists that can place amazing highlights, maintain hair health, and give fantastic long layered cuts but I get all of these from Valentina and more in a super laid back environment and at a very reasonable price. If you like your hair massacred in under 30 minutes this is where you should go. She didn't know how to clip hair back where it fell repeatedly. She didn't know what layers and framing are. I got charged for a long layer cut which this is not long layers. She had absolutely no clue. I should have just left when the red flags started. My hair has never looked worse. Thanks Dawn.
I highly recommend Mikahla for any of your hair cut needs. She does the best job. I only trust her with my hair!!!
My most recent trip to Semion might be my last, which is a shame because this shop is criminally convenient for me. After looking more closely in the mirror at home, one of my sideburns is at a solid 15 degree angle (which doesn't sound like a lot but is very noticeable - see the photo) and the taper is all sorts of a mess. I definitely got a rush job.
No shop is perfect, but the annoyances keep stacking up - waiting for 10 min+ after making appointments at specific times, getting different stylists than the one booked, the prices keep creeping up while the service is creeping down, etc. I hate to dump on a locally-owned business (and there are employees here who are crushing it) but it feels like every visit is a roll of the dice and at pushing $50 (cut + tip) that's not working for me anymore.
I have been getting my hair cut at Semion Stanley since they opened. I always get a consistent high-quality haircut there. And more recently I get my hair cut by Annie, who is spectacular. She takes notes on my preferences, is an expert technician, and is the friendliest hairstylist you could imagine. More hair stylists should be like Annie!
My husband and sons have been going to Semion Barbershop for years and we have been extremely happy! Specifically, we see Valentina who is an amazing and talented stylist - super patient with my kids who can definitely be a bit antsy when in the barber chair. Highly recommend!
